Very nice family hostel. For the most part, it was quiet and friendly. The work was not overwhelming. The food provided was local, filling, and delicious. This family welcomed me with open arms and I believe we developed a friendship that will last a lifetime. I am very greatful for this experience :)

In overall my experience was good, the family was nice and work wasn't much. The only problem was that sometimes the hot water for the shower's didn't work for a few days or the gas for the kitchen and Vladimir only repaired it as new guests arrived. Furthermore there's a lack of lockers for all beds in the dorm and each key works for each locker. On the one hand i felt very comfortable and it was pretty chilled as there weren't many guests or volunteers , on the other hand i felt a bit lonely and would have loved some company, so during low season it's not the place to connect with others.

My time at the guest house was lovely, they are a small family run business and I had a great time working for them, my duties included cleaning the bathrooms and making the hostel beds and making sure all the communal areas were clean and tidy, work usually finished around 1:30 pm when we would sit down and have a lovely home-cooked meal together.

It was a good experience. I had to quit earlier though due to COVID symptoms. Tasks were easy and people were kind

Cosy family-run hostel in city center. They really make you feel at home and are always ready to help out. The work is easy and there are enough volunteers to get it done. Very nice to have breakfast and lunch together so you can socialize with the other volunteers and guests. Had planned to stay 2 weeks and at the end stayed for almost a month !

Vladimir was very nice and the main "the guest house" hostel is very sociable yet calm, which was fun. One thing that should be said is that the family owns another two hostels, and one of them is very small and uncomfortable in my opinion. I was sent to volunteer there, but after two days asked to move to the main hostel, as I was lonely and sad there. So don't compromise on how you feel if things don't seem right for you. With that being said, the rest of my experience there was positive, I met some great people and had good time.

Limited characters, so if you wish to know more, message me but the main problems are: The hosts are not open. It's like we're intruding in their home. It's not hygenic- when cleaning we're instructed to use the same cloth to clean sinks, toilets, shower, windows and walls, reuse binbags so emptying poo toilet bins into 1 big bag; this is disgusting. The beds are only changed if they look dirty, not because a new guest is arriving and will use that bed. Breakfast was not as promised. Food is not stored correctly which is a health risk to the participants as we were given lunch.

I really enjoyed my time volunteering at the guest house in Cusco. Mr Vladimir, Ms Alicia and their family are very kind and helpful and the homemade meals are absolutely delicious. The work was cleaning the hostel, as mentioned in the listening. Hours are reasonable and consistent. On my days off they helped me book tours to Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain as well as gave me recommendations for things to do in the afternoons. I also enjoyed working with the other volunteers, as well as socializing with the guests. It feels like being at home at the guest house Hostel!
