Hardi's project is fabulous. While staying with him, he ensured to give me a full local experience by both encouraging me to interact with locals for my own needs as well as making me visit natural sites all around the Temanggung regency on a daily basis, allowing me to see for myself the need of sustainability. Beyond the amazing experience, Hardy, as a host, with his knowledge, wisdom, openness and love of his Javanese heritage, made my whole stay much more memorable. The deep and inspiring conversations we had and the passion he shared daily truly marked me. Thank you very much Hardi !

I truly had 10 wonderfull days with Hardy and his wife Diah. They are both wonderfull, hardworking people with whom you can have nice conversations (and some nice smokes). I feel like I learned a lot from this experience. Go here with no expectations and you will have the best time ever :)

It's hard to sum up in a few words how special this experience has been! From the moment I arrived Hardi & Diah made me feel so welcomed. You will get to experience Diah's incredible home cooked food every night & live in the comfort of their home. Temanggung is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, and the work Hardi & his team do to conserve it is so inspiring. I've learnt so much in just the project weeks being here and can't wait to come back one day. If you love nature & learning about new cultures, then come with an open mind & curiosity & you will love this experience. See you again🤍

Huge appreciation and respect for Hardi, Diah and the local communities I have met ( Yuni,Tommy,Piah, Rasid… …) For the days I have spent with Hardi and his family, community, I have learned a lot about the Javanese culture and local environment. Hardi's conviction to reserve the culture and nature birthed this beautiful opportunity for international travelers to support, connect to the wonderful nature and people at Temanggung. I came for two weeks and now... who knows? This place is pure magic! Hardi & Diah have built something special and have shown me comfort, insanely beautiful natural gems, great food, and more knowledge about Indonesia's history & society, as well as the promotion of sustainability within local communities. Hardi's progressive mindset & adaptability make every day an adventure, even when we just sit, chat, & smoke all day. I feel I've learnt a year's worth of knowledge in just 2 weeks. By the end of this stay, I'll be 1 step closer to a pro photographer & 2 steps closer to a heavy smoker!

This was one of the best experiences I had in life, Hardi was really good and helpful him and his family make me feel really welcomed and at home. Meeting locals and getting the chance to learn about the culture and their way of living, people here are so welcoming and make you feel at home everywhere you go (Always offering so much food and drinks, absolutely loved it). Exploring the surrounding, being in the nature and get to chance to see new stunning place. Hardi answered all the questions I had and was never an awkward moment. Diah's food is the best food you'll have in your life!

How can I describe the unforgettable and authentic experience I had with Hardy and his family during my stay? This isn't just any volunteer work... The only requirement here is to be open to others, to share, to be curious, and to disconnect. Hardy's kindness, generosity, and good vibes will take care of the rest! Immersed in this community, I discovered a new way of traveling, in communion with locals and nature. It's an experience you live, not explain—it's unique to each person, based on interests, time, and those welcoming you. Thank you to Hardy and his generous loved ones.

I will say thank you to Hardy and Dia for my stay! They welcome me very well and I have see the most beautiful part of Java! So breathtaking places and Hardy have drove around and we visit the local businesses to see all the handicraft work they do, have learn a lot about how everything works. All the sustainability work and that's so inspiring! Hardy is like an open book if you want to learn more about the nature! Thanks for sharing this moment together and thanks for very good food every single day!

My experience has been very enriching. I had the opportunity to connect with nature, improve my photography skills and share time with local people. Hardi and his wife are very friendly and supportive, so if you have any problems please don't hesitate to say it as soon as possible. If you are curious about local culture and enjoy nature but also easy-going and creative person, this place is a great option.

The Pine Forrest project has TONS of potential, and the two local boys that own it are the best people I have ever met. A few suggestions; Bring a motorbike because it's in a small village without much. The schedule isn't exact. Hardi likes to work one day and take one day to adventure. So don't expect routine or set work hours with days off. Also, the project has no money, so dont have high expectations of major renovations. After knowing this, I promise you will have an amazing time. Hardi and his family are very welcoming, and Temanggung is one of the most beautiful places in java 🤟
