Program Details

You'll be responsible for cleaning the common areas daily (4 bathrooms, communal kitchen), helping out when someone departs to change out their sheets and clean the room, and assist with laundry, gardening, occasionally covering the office. Usually scheduled for morning, sometimes need to walk the dog if I'm away. If you're traveling with a friend/partner, we take up to 3 volunteers at a time, so you can check to see if we have space for both of you. We don't include meals, but there's a communal kitchen you can use, and volunteers have free use of snorkel gear.

Activities & Shift

A typical day would start with a walk around the property to see if there are any rooms that have left early, and if so, take their sheets to the laundry room. Give a quick tidy (dishes away, counter wiped down) in the communal kitchen, and then take the dog out for a walk on the beach. When you return, clean the shared bathrooms and a more thorough clean of the communal kitchen, take out any garbage and recycling, sweep around the pool deck. If a load of laundry has been done, help hang it out to dry. Guests hanging out on the porch or by the pool? Snap a few pics and send them to us to post on social media.
Once any check outs have left, get those rooms made up and ready for any arrivals. Then off to snorkel, go for a dive or adventure around the island. Or get a cocktail and relax by the pool :)

Rules

Non-hostel guests are not permitted on property, so if you're making friends/boyfriends, you can meet with them elsewhere. This rule is in place for the security and comfort of all our guests. No drugs are permitted (including marijuana). As a volunteer, you represent the hostel, and are expected to behave in a way that positively reflects on the hostel.
