The experience

Come and help me clear up, clean the house, make beds, help serve breakfast and paint and in exchange you will get daily English conversation from a qualified teacher, or alternatively just have fun! You will experience life in a small French village while helping me to make my dream come true. You need to be co-operative and friendly - and respect my space and belongings, while I will respect yours.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 21 and 50 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

I can pick you up from Bedarieux train station, not anywhere else. But it is easy to get the local bus from Montpellier to my village.

It is very important that you understand that I am not obliged to provide 3 meals per day, but if I cook supper in the evening, then of course we will eat together. I do not always feel like cooking and sometimes I will be out with friends at mealtimes, so you need to be able to provide for yourself. You also need to be flexible about the programme - sometimes it is harder work than others - please speak to me if you are unhappy about something. I am very understanding.

Activities & Shift

I will provide breakfast, and lunch or dinner sometimes. You must work 5 hours a day minimum, preferably mornings and afternoons with an hour lunch break. I will need you to help me do breakfast over the weekends if there are guests, otherwise your weekends are your own.
