About the experience in: Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil
United Kingdom
The Worldpackers description is outdated. This is a very popular hostel, so the work is demanding. You work 8 hours a day, either as a Receptionist, Cleaner or Bartender. Some shifts, all three. For 2.5 weeks of my month-long stay, there was 0 food provided. I was never given any formal training. When working the bar, if stock is missing at the end of your shift, you get charged. I'm grateful for the people I met (Vania, Thayane, Luciano, Neli), and us volunteers had some great times together. But I can't endorse this hostel, because hostels should not be 90% volunteer-ran.
