The hostel was truly such a perfect way to start my backpacking journey. The hostel feels so safe and cozy and like a little home away from home. For me, it was a great place to relax and reset. I found myself drinking lots of tea, doing crossword puzzles, making bracelets, and hanging out with the pigeons in the garden. Erika the owner is so sweet and has the best stories and recommendations on places to go. I would highly recommend this volunteer experience <3

The hostel is a haven full of lovely & inspiring women. The jobs are simple, and the afternoon shifts will fly by if you're crafting or get too invested in cryptic crosswords! If you're interested in the city's night life, the quiet-after-9 rule makes a homely space to come back to, and you know your safety is prioritised. Erika has the biggest heart of anyone I've ever worked for & she genuinely cares for all her volunteers and guests. Also, every day is made even more enjoyable because of the other volunteers! Emily, Keira, Alexa & Alex will be in my heart forever! <3

I had such a wonderful time during my stay! Everyone I met from staff and volunteers to guests were wonderful and so kind and welcoming. Had some brilliant experiences getting to know everyone and my only complaint is that I wish I stayed longer! Thank you so much to Erika, Emily and Anna you have all been so sweet 🩷

I had an absolutely incredible time volunteering at the hostel. Erika was such a wonderful host/boss, so friendly and welcoming. Tasks were easy to do, well explained and set out. Erika was very accommodating to any changes in shift schedule that I requested which I really appreciated. Plenty of time to explore Belfast and Northern Ireland. The hostel itself is cosy and creates such a safe environment. A fantastic experience for my first Worldpackers volunteer position.

Working at Erica's hostel was a great introduction to what Worldpackers can offer. Erica's convivial and idiosyncratic personality gives the hostel character, and I'll miss Erica's captivating stories. The work provided a satisfying amount of physical activity, and I appreciated the trust Erica gave me to complete tasks independently. After requesting a locker, I was provided with one. However, having a curtain and a functioning door lock in my room would have improved my sense of security and privacy. Belfast is a charming city, and I particularly enjoyed visiting the Botanic Gardens.

I had a lovely time volunteering at this Hostel, it is a very cosy and welcoming place! Erika was an amazing host, answered any questions I had and told very interesting stories :) There is so much to do around the hostel - from the causeway coast and the mourne mountains, to the botanic gardens and St George's Market. There is a real community feel within the hostel and I loved getting to watch Eurovision with everyone! I would highly recommend!!

Volunteering at the hostel was a wonderful experience from the moment I stepped through the door. This was my first volunteering experience, so naturally I was apprehensive, but this cozy, calming and caring space was perfect. Erika is an excellent hostel manager, she laid out tasks very clearly for me. I did the morning shift which mostly consisted of cleaning, and I really enjoyed it. She gave me lots of tips and tricks for housekeeping and hospitality. I will miss Belfast, Erika's stories, walks in the hostel Gardens, and learning about the rich history in Northern Ireland :)

I've had such a lovely time volunteering at Erika's hostel (and have extended my stay!!). She has created a beautiful place that's so relaxed and you can tell is a passion project. Working shifts are very clear and Erika is often around the hostel or very easy to contact. She has the best recommendations for what to do in and around Belfast and for being at the hostel I've loved the excessive baking we've been doing for guests, the movie sessions and Erika's stories. Being so near to the botanic gardens is gorgeous also and theres always music on in the city. I can't recommend enough :)

Erika has created a welcoming space with charming decor, photos, and writings from past guests and staff, adding a personal touch. The hostel offers a peaceful atmosphere that blends business with the beauty and history of Northern Ireland. Erika is not only a fantastic boss but also a great friend and storyteller. Her passion and dedication are evident in every detail. During downtime, we often baked, did crafts, and chatted around the dinner table. I feel so lucky to have been part of this hostel, even if only for a short time. I'm grateful for the warm hospitality, thank you for having me!
