My time at the organization has shown me love and kindness in a way that I have never experienced before. Emma and Lydia are truly amazing and inspiring people that u feel extremely lucky to have met. The school is full of smiles and just the most amazing welcome from all the kids and teachers. The family at home has now become my family too. Three weeks was not enough time and I'm most definitely going back next year! Would recommend to anyone that wants to be loved by the kids and make a true impact in their lives! Xx

The time with the family, the school, the kids, the volunteers were wonderful….we had so much fun, we learnt , we changed as person, we gave a lot and received so much more. Thank you Emma and Lidia, and everybody who made part of this experience. You guys really are angels in earth. You give everything and touch us the meaning of sharing and love. Thank you for having us and the organization to see you again in the future…. <3

Overall amazing experience. So glad I did it. Homestay was one of the best aspects, getting a more local viewpoint. Flo does the food & always boiled water for volunteers. Lydia's a comforting influence, good to talk with. Got to help w/ some meal prep. Logistics: At the school most days 9AM to 3-4PM, but sometimes left at 1PM & it seemed ok. School is M-F so not 3 days off per week. Flushing toilets @ home & squatty potties at school. It's a quick 6-8UGX boda ride to Jinja. Washing machine broken. Be clear about the money, esp. if you've not used WorldRemit before. That was the only hiccup.

I had such a good experience volunteering with the organization's Foundation in Jinja. From the moment I arrived, everyone was extremely welcoming. Lydia was so kind and hospitable, always making sure all the volunteers were well. I enjoyed my time volunteering at the school and helping the kids. The kids were very excited to have the volunteers at the school. Although I only got to stay for a little, I am extremely grateful for my experience and the time I spent in Uganda. :)

Unforgettable experience! I'm extremely grateful to have been part of this amazing FAMILY… I was warmly welcomed by Emmanuel, the wife Lydia and everyone else in the house, it truly felt like home. I could be deeply immersed in everything they do to grow constantly. Everybody involved in the organization is very committed to make everything work smoothly for workers, children, teachers, volunteers. I had the chance to know and share with everyone (locals and volunteers) something more than a simple “experience”. I'm never going to forget you, thank you very much for opening your heart to me.

Uganda has my heart. I felt welcomed from the moment I arrived, connecting with other travellers, who shared this wonderful experience with me. Lydia and Emma were wonderful hosts, and I loved spending time with the kids at home. I can truly say that I have a little Ugandan family now. I would recommend asking when school holidays are before you book your time here, as I only got to teach for 2 weeks out of the 4 weeks I spent there. There is also a lot of free time as school is only 9am-2pm, so plenty of time to spend time with volunteers exploring Jinja and going on fun adventures.

It was a truly amazing experience. I was able to fully immerse myself into their culture, meeting lots of new people. Emma, Lydia and their family welcomed me with open arms and made me feel part of their family. The school is filled with such happy children that get so excited to spend time with you. The volunteers help with a variety of activities from helping or teaching a class, marking books, creating resources for children, playing sports games and helping with renovations of the school. Thank you for everyone who shared this experience with me.
