Rules

Volunteer Code of Conduct

To keep Jollyboys a safe, welcoming, and positive place for everyone, please read and follow the guidelines below:

* Overnight visitors are not permitted. Anyone bringing “overnight friends” will be asked to leave the program immediately.
* Absolutely no drugs - Zambia is a conservative, Christian country, and drug use will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
* Be respectful, kind, and considerate to all guests, staff, and fellow volunteers.
* Un-social or disrespectful behaviour (rudeness, isolation, or creating tension within the team) will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the volunteer program.
* Be proactive and self-sufficient. Take time to learn about the department you’re assisting, the staff you’re working with, and their daily routines.
* Engage with guests! Be friendly, helpful, and share your enthusiasm for Livingstone and all the activities we offer.
* Report anything unusual or problematic to the manager, whether it’s staff, guest, or facility-related (e.g. no hot water, leaking roof, aggressive guest, poor food quality). This helps us maintain high standards and prevent negative reviews.
* You must have a valid Business Visa to volunteer in Zambia. No Business Visa = No work.
* Failure to fulfil volunteer duties or adhere to this code of conduct may result in early termination of your placement.
