I really enjoyed my experience at the hostel and would recommend volunteering there to anyone willing to visit Jerusalem. The hostel is in a great location, close to many touristic sites, shops, markets... During my stay we had 6-hour shifts 4 days a week, which is pretty good if you want to explore surrounding cities, for example. The schedule was pretty flexible, and they always tried to accommodate your preferences in terms of shifts and days off.

Hello to all travellers. I spent one and a half months at the hostel in Jerusalem. It was truly amazing! I felt welcomed from the very first day and eventually I even started calling the place my home. The team is so friendly and the manger James is very easy going and always tries to give you your desired work times. The work is not heavy and the hours very fair. The best thing about the hostel are the other volunteers and the memories you make together! I'm forever grateful for the incredible friends I made there! Plus there is always something to explore in this wonderful city!

I spent 5 extraordinary weeks of my life at the hostel. Jerusalem is an unforgettable city and its proximity to other cities of interest makes it an ideal place to explore the country. The experience at the hostel was unbeatable, James is an excellent manager and the rest of the staff is very good. Special mention to all the volunteers with whom I shared a room, meals and experiences.

Great, chill place to work. Easy tasks and friendly environment. Had a great stay there. In short distance to the old city and surrounded by nice little shops.

The team was very welcoming and kind. There's a huge sense of appreciation for diversity, so it is possible to really connect with people from all over the world, valuing the uniqueness everyone would bring to the place. Overall, tasks are easy and the schedule isn't long, so there's plenty of time to go explore. Unfortunately, war interrupted an incredible experience, in such magical an interesting places, as both, Israel and Palestine are full of breathtaking landscapes, history and AWESOME people to meet. Thanks a lot to everyone, I really hope there's peace, fun and love again. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑโค๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ด

The volunteering manager Gur was basically invisible the entire time I was there. His help or guidance was basically non-existent as I had to text him 3 or 4 times just to get a response. It was one of the other volunteers that really โ€œranโ€ things even though it wasn't his job. I basically couldn't count in the leadership for anything, the owner maybe gave me a few minutes of his time but then got distracted by something else. I also got bitten by bed bugs and disturbed that the management knew people were getting bit but not shutting the place down to exterminate.

I applied for this volunteer experience like 4 months in advance so I could plan accordingly. Traveling from Argentina to Israel is very expensive and I've worked very hard for many years to make this happen. I traveled to Europe and 4 DAYS before my arrival date to Israel, James the manager writes me a WhatsApp message apologizing and telling me that the job I applied for (Marketing, Social media and Events) was not "available" because he didn't have enough volunteers. Until now I don't know what this really meant because he didn't give any details, he just said "Sorry". No commitment.

The hostel is located in the area with easy and fast access to the greatest monuments. Work and responsibilities in the hostel give a real possibility to travel around Israel. The hostel is comfortable to hang out in and the duties as simple and clear. Hours of work can be agreed which is a big advantage. However the hostel's owner don't really communicate with volunteers and some ideas which could improve the place, are just ignored. The hostel has a huge potential, unfortunately, the priorities are different. Generally I enjoyed staying and working there, I recommend the place.
