This was a transformative experience! We were volunteers from all over the world. The tasks are ok, and Lior respect the hours of work and your free time. You'll get the schedule every Saturday, so you can plan your week, and you can ask for a particular day if you need to travel. The hostel has the best location in the city, and Tel Aviv is absolutely amazing!! This became a house to me for this month!

It has been an amazing experience, the hostel cannot be better located in the city, the building is nice and also I had a really good relation with Lior and the rest of the team. Guests were also really nice and we did a lot of activities together (trips through Palestina and Israel, time on the beach, partying...). Schedule for next week is provided on Friday and respected, so it is easier to travel and make activities. Normally you work 4-5 days per week and you have 2-3 days for free. You have a bed in a dorm, laundry for free, coffee for free at the Bar and also dinner/breakfast.

The hostel was both amazing and horrible. The good: other volunteers, the city of Tel Aviv, the location, guests, hours were accurate (25 per week). I love the people I met and we really feel like family. The bad: I didn't like the host's behavior. Gave us less than $1 per person, per day for food and we had to beg for more. The hostel is very dirty and we felt bad when he asked us to clean it (cockroaches, flooded bathroom). He kicked out 3 volunteers while I was there because in my opinion he seems to be on a power trip and almost didn't let me leave this review, saying I was a no-show.

This Is our side of the Story With Olivia:
During Olivia's Reception shift - 2 Volunteers made an attempt to break inside one of our private caravans while a guest was sleeping inside - in the middle of the night.
This guest came to the front desk to complain about this attempt, at the front desk he met Olivia. The guest told hostel management that Olivia made him feel uncomfortable when he complained to her about the situation. He also stated that Olivia laughed at him in front of other guests.
A few hours later this guest wanted to call the police due to what happened at night time when Olivia was on shift.
At this point the house management came to the house to convince the guest not to call the police, the guest was upgraded to a private room and 4,000 NIS (1,300 USD) was refunded to his credit card.

From that Night and morning Olivia exposed, in my opinion, bad behavior and spread negative energy and bad vibes in our house and team.
This is the first time a situation like this has happened to us over more than 10 years of hostel management- we are still in shock from the behavior of the volunteers that were involved in this.

As a result of this extreme case, hostel management released the volunteers that were a part of this scandal.
Another side of Olivia's Toxic Behaviour as we learned from other team members is to shout around the house: "I'm from NYC i don't know how to clean / cook/ do laundry"- We didn't like this behaviour, since we had many people from NYC that did an amazing job in cooking/cleaning/laundry.

Bottom line: We wouldn't recommend any hostel\ business\ organization to accept / recruit Olivia, cause we had a negative experience due to her toxic behavior."

First of all Lior was very flexible about free days and made an earlier departure possible. Another big plus for me was the team and the social environment in the hostel- we as volunteers were always in contact with the guests! But the thing that made it hard for me was the chaos there. The rooms for us volunteers were way to small (about 15 cm2 for 8 of us) and not suitable for a longer stay. There was no breakfast/ dinner provided, but we got 100nis for all of us per week, which wasn't enough. Also the kitchen and volunteer bathroom was always messy and unhygienic.

I came for two weeks in December but I am thinking about coming back in the future. The tasks are quite simple and they have a very detailed plan about what you should do in your shift. The staff and Lior (the owner) are friendly and supportive. There are nice perks for volunteers like tours or pub crawls.

Amazing experience, since I arrived to the hostel: from the hostel staff, Lior, volunteers and cleanning lady => AMAZING CREW. The daily tasks are easy, and Tel Aviv have an amazing nightlife that I promise you wont be bored. The hostel offers you: breakfast, dinner, laundry, free tours around Israel and free staying in some hostels around Israel, and free PubCrawl! Definitely recommended! 👌

This was my first time volunteering at a hostel and it was an incredible experience! I volunteered for 2 weeks and during this time I made unforgettable memories and friends from all over the world. Roger and Sasha welcomed me on my first day and made me feel at home straight away. The location is also amazing and so close to everything (the beach, bars, clubs, markets, etc). It is a really social hostel, so there are always people around that you can explore Tel Aviv with, day or night. I would definitely recommend volunteering at the hostel to everyone!

I volunteered at the hostel in Tel Aviv for one month. it was an amazing experience. roger the owner is a really cold & friendly guy. he always helps out with the volunteers and guests. He personally arranges accommadition for free for his volunteers in other hostels for them to travel Israel. he has a lot of connections with other hostels around Israel. the staff is wonderful as well. the hostel facilities are great. it's a 7 minute walk from the beach too! as a volunteer you get a lot of cool stuff.. free laundry, free pub crawls, tours, and free accommodation in other hostels in israel.
