I loved my 5 weeks at the school in Hai Phong! I completely immersed myself in the city of Hai Phong and its people and culture whilst having engaging conversations with the many students and friends I made throughout my volunteering stint! The city is safe and easy to navigate (maps also exist :p). You get free motorbikes that you can use to explore the city. During your days off, I highly recommend visiting Cat Ba Island, Ha Long Bay, etc. Thank you so much to Andy, Vy, and the rest for making this experience as special as it was! I highly recommend this volunteering opportunity!

It was a pleasant experience! The students are quite nice and do their part when studying, the hosts take the time to see that their volunteers are well and take their opinions into account. the school is a great the school that has a good impact on the school. I definitely recommend living this experience!

I really liked my stay at the school 6 especially because of the people I met there. The work is easy and you work about 3 hours a day in which you usually just talk to students which is fun. The accommodation itself is not the best. The room is with 10 people really packed and there is only one bathroom where the shower has some problems. But the worst part was the kitchen. It was very dirty, often flooded and the food that was cooked for us often just stood there for multiple hours. Would recommend it but probably not for solo travelers because of a lack of things to do in the city.

I truly had such a great time connecting with other volunteers and the Vietnamese people. I enjoyed the English classes and learning more about the Vietnamese culture. There were scooters provided for us which was great to explore the city. Aswell lunch and dinner was cooked for us, which was nice, but we often went out for food after classes again. The only thing I had to get used to was the accommodation conditions: 10 of us slept in a quite small room, so we basically had not much space to leave our bags. Aswell the bathroom wasn't t the cleanest (there was mold). But it was so cool anyw.

The volunteering and speaking to the students was really enjoyable, they are so eager to learn! I really enjoyed this. The other volunteers and staff living in the apartment were amazing and I loved spending time with them. However I never formally met the host/owner, which I think is necessary for volunteers to understand the project. The facilities were awful, complete lack of care for the apartment, homestay and the building where the children learn. Food left out all day, often with flies and mould in the room which also has a lack of airflow and cramped. Shower flooded daily.

My experience at the school was very positive. Classes were very enjoyable and the conditions of the volunteering were exactly as we agreed beforehand. I could meet other volunteers from different countries and backgrounds and also had the chance to know the local culture and places thanks to the students.

At a dinner a teacher made an anti Trans joke at my expense, then told me to not be so sensitive when I was unhappy about being misgendered as a joke. The same teacher tried to pimp me out to a male teacher then tried to help a younger teacher, who spoke terrible English and dressed for the club make me her sugar daddy. Then made a revenge post that they admited was out of revenge. Also the place is gross with flies, cockroaches and rats in the kitchen. The bathroom is a lake.

I had a wonderful stay here for 2 weeks! I thought it was a great first world packers and home stay experience. The volunteers that help out here are so friendly and fun and I'll miss them dearly. Come into it with an open mind and always say yes to going somewhere new! Thank you for a great experience! Love you guys!
