It was really nice. Everybody there was super friendly and kind. Chris and the team also finds time to join all the volunteers in dinners, parties, pool and some video games. Really great people to talk to at any time :)

This was my first experience as a volunteer and I'm very happy to have chosen DBH. Work there is fine and easy, just 4 days/week; the management are fun, kind and patient; when you need to work on something personal there's quiet rooms where you can have more privacy; the staff is always very nice and the hostel is a great and very well located city, from where you can travel and explore Scotland. So, if you want to practice your English, meet new and interesting people around the world, learn new skills, explore Scotland and have have a good time, the hostel is a great choice ❤️❤️

I had such a great time at the hostel!! I made amazing friends among the staff and met friendly guests. The work is easy to do and you'll have plenty of time to do whatever you want after. The reception staff is really nice and will help you if you need it. And if you're more on the introverted side, don't worry. There are rooms where you have more privacy, even though you'll feel at home pretty quickly. One piece of advice: don't forget to take warm clothes because even inside it's not always warm :)

This was my first volunteering experience at a hostel and it was really really amazing. I had applied for 1 month initially and ended up extending my stay because of the positive environment the hostel has. It just felt like home. The hostel is amazing in terms of facilities, cleanliness, comfort & entertainment. Work is really easy and you get enough time to relax and explore around. It's an amazing opportunity for you to meet travellers from around the world. I got the opportunity to bond with amazing people and create memories for life :) Thank you Chris and Herve for being amazing hosts!

The hostel Backbackers is a lovely and relaxed place to volunteer. It's a huge old building with lots of space and a big games room with a pool table. the hostel itself is not an especially beautiful city but it is great to use a base to explore the more famous cities of Scotland. The hosts were excellent people and the team was great. Plenty of pubs to go for a drink and some nice places to eat. It was exactly what I needed at the time.

The hostel is a very nice place to stay. in my experience it was very chill and relaxing. The job was not much at all and easy to learn. Everyone made me feel welcome right from the start. The management is great very kind, sensible and patience. The location can't be any better than what it is. And the highlight is a lovely games room full of games, musical instruments and a pool table ✨. Thank you for this great experience! I hope to see you soon, cheers, Brenda

It was the best hostel I've been to, especially in the social aspect. I met amazing people from all around the world, it was my favorite thing in the hostel. Chris was terrific, he was extremely kind and understanding with any request I had, even when I had to leave a few days before the date we agreed upon. The work itself is fair and is usually done in less than 4 hours, though it can be a little bit physically tiring, depends on the day. I usually stayed in the hostel, and used my days off to travel other places. I liked the city a lot, and there's also great transportation. (:

The hostel is massive, but at the same time super cozy! It's not a party hostel, it's more of a family hostel, but you can also have some fun (they even have a nice games room where you can play the pool table for free hahah). My favorite part of the hostel was definitely the reading room. It's super comfortable and quiet: perfect time to get away a little bit and just sit, relax and enjoy a good book. The wifi is not that good, though. So as a digital nomad, but was kind of a bummer, because I struggled during my online classes.
