I really love the stay at Hardy's. He and His family are extremely welcoming and his wife is an amazing cook. For sure you have lower your luxury standards but I think that just adds to the realness of the local experience! Cause that was what it was. Through Hardy I met so many interesting people and got to see so many beautiful places. The people are so friendly but most of the time it's their English which limits them. Hence by visiting and engaging with them this project really contributes to their skills. And in the other way I also got to learn a bit of Javanese! Thanks so much Hardy!

Never in my life have I felt so welcomed away from home as I have with Hardy but also in all of Temanggung. Hardy was always committed to making sure I had a great time and he took me to places I will never forget. Breathtaking waterfalls and stunning mountaintop sunrises were complemented with a unique cultural experience. I was able to meet so many kind and warm hearted locals - encounters that touched me deeply. Every day ended with one last highlight, which was Diah's amazing dinner. Come with an open mind and you will get a memory that lasts for a lifetime!

Hardy and Dia are lovely people and Dia's food is amazing, I really enjoyed staying with them and meeting other volunteers here. I also appreciated Hardy accomodating my work schedule alongside the activities he had planned for us. When staying here, you are fully immersed in the local culture and surrounding areas. However, I was expecting to be busier and giving something back to the community/projects but instead found myself with a lot of free time which was not what I was looking for.

Thank you for the review, but don't be confused

I gave you explanation before you confirmed and more explanation on the phone and another more explanation when you just arrived and another explanation every time you asked and you always said that you get clear explanations
I gave you flexible hours as you have your online class and we adapted our schedule to your needs, but this is what you wrote

There are Wahyu, Bima, Tom and the rest of the people who wants to learn and practice English, but you were always busy talking about something else and somewhere else with Ingrid

I didn't write reviews for both of you just because I wanted to give you a chance to learn and to be respectful

This is a great place, if you want to relax, watch a waterfall, and visit locals. If you want to volunteer, help, and feel like you have made a difference, then this is definitely not the place. The entire concept is basically Hardi bringing you out to “experience” Temanggung, as a “tourist”. The “job/volenteering” you are doing, is being a foreigner on Hardi's videos. It just wasn't for me. I wanted to help, and ended up feeling kind of used for my color of skin. But hey Hardi and his wife Dia are nice people. And I do believe Hardi wants to help. Idk. It was a bit weird tbh..

I thought you wouldn't write a review as you didn't really do the work, didn't finish the schedule and the purpose is to support tourism programs and your review shows that you cannot understand all the explanations.
If your reason is to help, why don't you spend more time with people from batik house. instead you were more talking about something else with other guests
If your reason is to help, why don't you continue the work at the pineforest, instead you were more spending time at cozy coffee shop and suddenly decided to leave earlier

But anyway, thank you so much for everything

Hardi and his family were super welcoming, and all the family worked hard to make us feel included and safe. The surrounding area is fantastic and you get an opportunity to try a variety of things whilst meeting lots of different areas of the community. Dea, Hardi's wife is a fantastic cook and baker. Overall the experience was positive and very enriching. We stayed for two weeks. Communication slowed down on the latter part of the second week, leaving us a little unsure with what was happening. But overall great thanks Hardi 🤘🏻

Hardy welcomed me in his own home, I was able to live like a true javanese even during the shower. He showed me traditional dances and some of the activities the locals make as a business. It was a truly rich experience. Every single person from his community made me feel welcome, and I truly appreciated it. The food from Diah his wife was truly amazing!

Being a woman and travelling alone can be so scary at times. Hardi always made me feel safe, respected and made sure I was having fun! He is easy going and loves joking around, but also knows when to be responsable and serious. I could not recommend this experience enough. Getting out of your comfort zone isn't so terrifying when you have Hardi by your side :) The activities were varied and so interesting. We were always in touch with the local community and also nature. It was the best of both worlds. I learned so much during my stay! This little family will always be in my heart.

I had an amazing 10 days with Hardi! His communication from the start was really good and clear, which made the commute to the town very easy. The 10 days were a perfect balance of chilled and exploring and meeting the community. I learned so much about Temanggung during my stay and got to see some amazing places and meet lovely people. It can't go unsaid about his wife Dia's amazing home cooked food every evening which was a real highlight!! If you want to live like a local and immerse yourself in the local culture I can't recommend enough

I spent 10 days with Hardy and his family and it was, without doubt, one of the most valuable experiences I've ever had. 12/10, would recommend to everyone. I've eaten the best food ever (his wife is an incredible cook!!), seen the most amazing, untouched nature and had great, deep talks with Hardy and his friends. There is no fixed schedule, as he doesn't want to force anything, which I absolutely loved. My highlight was the extraordinary people I was able to meet here. They are all incredibly welcoming and kind-hearted. Hardy and his family will always have a special place in my heart🥰
