The experience
As a volunteer in Pecka, you’ll be part of a small rural community focused on nature protection and sustainable tourism. Tasks depend on the season and include maintenance, gardening, mowing, trail and protected area upkeep, helping in the kitchen, cleaning, and building or repairing simple furniture and structures. The work is practical and real. We expect responsibility, initiative, and comfort with simple rural life.
What you offer
5 hours of help per day
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Kitchen Hand:
Help prepare, finish and serve meals.
Animal Care:
Help look after and take care of animals.
Building & Repairing:
Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
What you get
2 days off per week
Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.

Requirements
Intermediate English or Fluent Serbian
Between 18 and 40 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details
This volunteer program is based on cooperation, shared responsibility and mutual respect. Volunteers take part in daily activities related to rural life, nature protection and sustainable tourism, while hosts provide accommodation, meals and a safe, supportive environment.
The program is designed as an exchange through work, shared living and time spent in nature. Its goal is to preserve natural values, support the local community and provide practical experience in a rural setting.
Activities & Shift
Activities depend on the season, weather conditions and current needs, and may include:
• maintenance of spaces and facilities
• gardening, mowing and firewood preparation
• trail maintenance and care of protected natural areas
• building and repairing simple furniture and structures
• helping in the kitchen and cleaning shared spaces
• assistance during events, workshops and festivals
Work is organized 5 hours per day, 5 working days per week.
The schedule is agreed in advance and allows time for rest and personal activities.
Rules
• Respect for hosts, other volunteers and the local community is mandatory
• Responsibility towards tasks and shared spaces is expected
• Volunteers must follow the agreed work schedule
• Alcohol and other psychoactive substances are not part of the program
• Protection of nature and responsible behaviour in protected areas is mandatory
• Open and honest communication is essential for a positive stay
