The experience

The Beauty and Make-Up Assistant supports personal care, confidence-building, and creative expression through basic beauty and make-up services. This role contributes to empowering individuals especially women and youth by promoting self-esteem, hygiene, and positive self-image during events, trainings, or community activities.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 20 Per day

Description: The fee is for accommodation and food.

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Requirements

Fluent English or Fluent Swahili

Between 18 and 70 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Through workshops, community events, and hands-on practice, participants learn how to enhance their natural beauty in a simple, affordable, and healthy way. The program also serves as a safe space to encourage self-expression, confidence building, and social interaction.
In addition to beauty skills, the program emphasizes self-worth, discipline, and professionalism, helping participants develop life skills that can be useful for employment, entrepreneurship, or personal development. The Beauty and Make-Up Program supports community development by empowering individuals to feel confident, presentable, and valued in society.

Activities & Shift

Provide basic make-up and beauty services for events, photoshoots, workshops, or community programs
Assist with skin care routines, hygiene education, and beauty awareness sessions
Help individuals choose suitable looks based on occasion, culture, and comfort
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of tools and products
Support training sessions by demonstrating basic make-up skills when required
Work respectfully with people from different backgrounds and age groups
