The experience

Here you will be free to do and create what you want. We will build sustainable huts, houses and compost toilets using COB (a mix of clay, sand, and straw) and plant a permaculture garden using syntropic farming principles. Of course we can offer you to help with these projects and we are very happy to teach you all we know about it. But if you have some other ideas about what you would like to contribute, you are free to do so. 🌱

What you offer

15 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Additional fee required

Amount: € 20 Per week

Description: We ask you to split the costs for food with the rest of us. In return we don't have a fixed requirement for working hours or what you work. You are free to contibute what you want to the project.

What you get

3 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Program Details

Santa Madre is a place with huge potential. It's a big Land close to Altea, Spain. It used to be an Orange tree monoculture, but now most of the Land is overgrown by grass. We intend to transform it into a green and biodiverse Paradise, using Permaculture principles and syntropic farming tequniques that will increase biodiversity, beauty and harvest. Another part of the project will be to build suistainable huts for comfortable living using COB (a mix of clay, sand and straw). We will use the soil of the land itself, as it has a lot of clay in it. We will start by building smaller structures like a compost toilet and small huts, but eventually we will progress to building bigger things like an outdoor kitchen and maybe even a proper house. We are not sure yet what this place will be in the end. Maybe a community, maybe a yoga and retreat center or an organic farm. Or maybe all at the same time. But for sure it will be a Oasis of peace and freedom in this chaotic world. And you can be part of it, with your own unique gifts, skills and ideas. We are looking forward to have you here!
