The experience

Work in daycare and preschool centres in rural, semi-rural Ghana assisting with play, early literacy, basic learning and daily care routines. No specific qualifications are required — just energy and compassion.

What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 30 Per day

Fee pays for: Materials for volunteer activities and Donation to project

Description: Volunteers contribute $30 USD a day to cover expenses for : Airport Pick - Up and Drop - Off Accommodation, Breakfast and Dinner, Orientation, Project Development, SIM cards - that are to be handed over to the team after projects are completed Free wifi , welcome package 24 hour guidance and support , administrative fees, Certificate of participation

Program Details

Volunteer in underprivileged communities supporting teachers, mentoring children, leading activities, and helping with daily routines. Programs typically run from 2 weeks and up, and include orientation and support.
These volunteer opportunities focus on children who are orphaned, vulnerable, or living in care homes:

Volunteer roles include caring for children in orphanages, helping with feeding, playtime, basic lessons, and emotional support. Comfortable volunteer housing and meals are usually provided.

Work alongside local staff helping feed, dress, play with, and teach children using creative learning methods. RisingSunPlc’s childcare volunteering runs year-round. Volunteers support schools and centres by organising activities, games, and play and assist teachers with everyday care.

This program allows you assist teachers in community schools, plan basic lessons, lead activities, and support children’s emotional and educational development.

Supports under-resourced childcare centres and outreach projects in Accra and surrounding areas with activities like games, arts, English support, and school routines. Minimum commitment usually 2+ weeks.
