The experience

I’m looking for a kind-hearted volunteer to stay with my rescue family in North York. If you want a comfortable home base with easy access to everything Toronto has to offer, this is the place. Perfect for animal lovers: you’ll spend quality time with Bandit and Jeff, plus lots of cuddles from our “foster fail” kitties. A warm home filled with paws, purrs, and personality 🐾🏡

What you offer

5 hours of help per day

Pet Sitting: Taking care of and looking after pets.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Beginner English

Between 18 and 50 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

​The Cats are super chill rescue kitties who are strictly professional cuddlers. They love playtime and being brushed.

-There are 2 litter boxes that need to be cleaned every other day.

​The Dogs are two sweet rescues who need active companionship. They require 4 walks a day, but luckily we are right next to a nice, big park!

-Bandit loves to play as he is still a puppy at heart, and Jeff was rescued from South Korea, so thrives on his routine.

​The Location:
You’ll be in a prime spot. We are a 5-minute walk to the subway and surrounded by everything you need: a 24-hour pharmacy, grocery store, gym, and mall are all right next door.

Activities & Shift

Dog Walking & Potty Schedule:

​Bandit and Jeff thrive on a consistent routine, roughly every 5 hours:

​Morning Walk: 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM
​Midday Walk: 1:00 PM
​Evening Walk: 6:00 PM
​Final Potty Break: Right before bedtime

The Kitties: Our "Foster Fails"

​Our cats are very low-maintenance and love a good session of:

​Cuddles & Play: They are very affectionate and enjoy interactive play.

​Brushing: They love being brushed and get super excited.

​Litter Duties: Please scoop the litter boxes every other day to keep them happy.

​Feeding & Hydration (All Pets)

​Fresh Water: Please refill the water fountain with fresh water every morning and night.

​Breakfast: Dry food for the cats and dogs.

​Dinner: A mix of wet and dry food for the cats and dogs.

Supplies & Storage

​Leashes: Located at the front door on the hook.

​Food Storage: Kept in the large containers by the coffee maker. The one with paws on it is the dry cat food and the one that says WOOF is for the dogs.

​Cleaning Supplies: Found under the kitchen sink and in the cupboard.
