The experience

Join our friendly, social hostel in the heart of Samara beach. As a volunteer you’ll exchange a few hours of help per day for accommodation, beach lifestyle, good vibes, and an unforgettable Costa Rica experience.

In Sandy Toes Hostel you’ll stay just steps from the beach, enjoy beautiful sunsets, join hostel activities like group dinners, beach walks, karaoke nights, and social events, and truly experience the Pura Vida lifestyle.

What you offer

24 hours of help per week

Party Promoter: Help organise and promote parties and social activities.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

What you get

1 day off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Requirements

Intermediate English or Beginner Spanish

Between 19 and 45 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Tasks rotate and can include reception support, cleaning, general hostel help, and helping create a fun, welcoming social atmosphere. We value positive energy, teamwork, and volunteers who enjoy connecting with guests from all over the world.

Activities & Shift

We work with four daily shifts to keep things organized and fair:
Morning shift: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Midday shift: 10am - 2pm or 12pm – 4pm
Afternoon/Night shift: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Shifts rotate so everyone shares responsibilities like reception, cleaning, changing beds and social activities.
