Bring your construction skills to build for nature 🌿🇫🇷
The experience
Our most appreciated help at our homestead, you'll either work directly together with Jason or be independent on using natural earthen, wood, etc materials to construct homes for our human and animal guests alike. We work with our stone walls and use natural insulation, lime hemp plaster, and clay sand plasters.
Every day we build something for nature, with nature, and enjoy a beer.

Program Details
Hello! We are a humble modest family who for five years have been building a more responsible lifestyle - balancing a modern life with ecology as the center. We have three children, 11, 8, and 1 years old, cats, free roaming chickens and a decent sized vegetable garden where we cultivate a natural habitat for insects, wild animals, and worms. We are renovating our home to be as respectful to nature as possible, using recycled and natural materials. We host people who too would like to make a transition in their lives to get closer to nature. We live a hour away from Paris but it feels like we are deep in the countryside where many of our guests find the place to be present, meditate, walk barefoot in the nature, rock climb, and swim in the river.
Activities & Shift
Firstly, we are looking for an individual who has a good work ethic to help us out. The tasks vary depending on the season and what we need to get done. We want to empower our volunteers with meaningful and useful tasks based upon what is a valuable help and what each volunteer can bring from their experiences. We are a busy family who needs to balance many things so we strike a balance between doing things together and you doing things independently. Through experience, we are happy to host short term volunteers (~5 days to 2 weeks) max one time a month. Outside of these "work" activities, we'd love to show you how we do some things here that might interest you, like breadmaking, kombucha, garden, natural building, renewable energies, composting, grey water recycling, wild plant foraging, etc.
Rules
We do have a few rules that have developed over time to create a safe place for others and especially our children. We'll discuss this and we've found our volunteers all easily can accommodate to these rules.
