Program Details

You’ll never get bored here at Sloth Garden, but this is not a fast-paced or luxury experience.

Volunteers will help with general garden and daily tasks, depending on the season and ongoing projects. The work is hands-on and practical, focusing on learning by doing.

Main activities include:
- General gardening and plant care
- Watering plants and maintaining garden areas
- Taking care of chickens and their living space
- Producing biochar using traditional charcoal-burning methods
- Making adobe bricks from natural materials
- Helping with natural building projects, including earthen (clay) houses
- Mixing soil mix and pack them in a bag

No previous experience is required. What matters most is a positive attitude, responsibility, and willingness to learn. Some tasks can be physically demanding, and working outdoors is part of daily life.

Work hours are usually in the morning or late afternoon to avoid strong sun, with flexibility depending on weather and energy levels. We value balance — working with focus and resting properly.

This position is best suited for people who enjoy simple living, nature, and hands-on work. If you are curious, patient, and comfortable with rural life, this experience can be meaningful and rewarding.

Activities & Shift

We begin our morning with watering plants in our garden.
After that we go to our chicken zone, feed them food and fill up their water tank. Check if any of them are ok. Usually it’ll take about 1 hour-ish for this task.
Mixing soil mix and pack them into a bag.
Other activities may varies due to weather and how you feel that day.
