The experience

I'm seeking a female volunteer to help teach English or Spanish to my daughter, assist us in the kitchen, with household tasks and other activities based on the guest’s skills, as indicated in the required areas.

We enjoy a high quality of life in a comfortable apartment; our food is mostly healthy.

During weekends we enjoy many connections and friends, plenty of opportunities to socialize, go out, and take trips.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Restaurants: Get discounts at nearby restaurants.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

Let me explain where we live:
In Pontassieve, a quiet residential town of about 15.000 inhabitants, conveniently located for all needs and surrounded by hills and woods.

You’ll sleep in a single bed, sharing the room with my 9-year-old daughter, and you’ll have everything you need: Wi-Fi internet (50/15 Mbps), bed linens and blankets, towels, hairdryer, a fully equipped kitchen, etc...

We have 3 parks and 2 rivers right nearby, perfect for walks and many sports.
Within 1–3 minutes on foot you can reach a bakery, a pastry shopm, a café, a bar, restaurants, pizzerias, ATM, a pharmacy, a large supermarket, all kinds of shops, bus station, and the train station.
Florence is just 13–28 minutes away by train (depending on the station), the ticket costs 3.90 Euro.

On weekdays there are about 50 trains per day to Florence (from 5:30 am to 10:34 pm) and the same number back (from 5:00 am to 11:24 pm). On holidays, about half that number.

For city life, art, history, and culture, our home is ideal for visiting Florence while staying away from the hustle of the historic center.

I’m always available to help you with whatever you need during your stay in Italy:
I speak Italian, English, French, and Thai.
I have plenty of free time, many skills to share, and a 7-seat car, so I can also be your driver.

Activities & Shift

Saturday and sunday you could be totally free, if you want...*

Elisa, my daughter, is at school from 8:30 to 4:30 pm, from monday to friday.

In the mornings, I usually go to the gym for an hour or two for yoga, Pilates, gymnastics, sauna, etc... if you'd like, you can come with me :-)

Following our previous move, we still have many boxes of things to evaluate, organize, sell, etc., and I ask for help with this, almost every day, during the hours Elisa is at school.

I would also ask you to cook for dinner, sometimes with Elisa.

Every tuesday it’s important that you are at home with my daughter from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

For the rest of the time, we’ll organize the schedule together.

*On weekends, I'm often away attending holistic or personal growth courses, or going on trips with friends or Elisa, which you can join if you'd like.

Rules

Smoking and the use of any drugs are not allowed.
It's not possible to invite anyone over while I'm away.
During the time you’re playing and teaching to with my daughter, please do not use your smartphone.
