The experience

🌱 LONG-TERM VOLUNTEER POSITION – ORGANIC FARM

We are looking for a long-term volunteer to join an organic farm project with a minimum stay of 1 month.
Longer stays (full season) are preferred.
This position suits someone who enjoys working the land, is careful, responsible and consistent in daily tasks.
Preference will be given to people who already have some experience with growing vegetables, farming, gardening or similar hands-on work.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely


Requirements

Fluent Spanish or Intermediate English

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Program Description

La Huertina de Tarifa is an organic farming project rooted in conscious living, structure and long-term vision.

This is not a short or casual experience. The program is designed for people who want to be involved in daily farm life, learn through hands-on work and be part of a stable rhythm.

Volunteers join the regular flow of the land: caring for crops, respecting routines and contributing consistently. Presence, responsibility and continuity are essential for this program to work well.

A minimum stay of one month is required. Longer stays are preferred.


Activities & Shift

Daily activities are practical and land-based.

Work may include:

Planting, harvesting and crop care
General farm maintenance
Irrigation and tool handling
Small construction or DIY tasks
Shared cooking and cleaning

Schedule is usually 4 to 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, with 2 full days off.
Exact timing can change slightly depending on weather and seasonal needs.


Rules

Life here is simple, structured and conscious.

Key rules include:
No alcohol or drugs on the land
Respect for schedules, silence and rest
Cleanliness and order in shared spaces
Careful use of tools and resources
Vegan food at home
Open, honest and respectful communication

These rules exist to create calm, trust and a healthy shared environment.
