Program Details
This program combats child malnutrition through door-to-door home visits in rural Gomba, Uganda. We conduct twice-weekly outreaches (usually Tuesdays & Fridays, flexible) to visit families in remote villages.
Outreach Days (5–7 hours): Travel together with the Ebenezer Clinic team and other volunteers. At each household, use MUAC tapes to screen children 6–59 months for malnutrition, check signs, and provide one-on-one nutrition counseling to caregivers on local foods, hygiene, and feeding. Distribute packs if available and refer severe cases to the clinic.
Other Days (4–5 hours): Follow-ups, school nutrition checks (e.g., Adolf Mukasa Nursery and other schools affiliated with our organization), or documentation—always working as a team.
Team Collaboration: You'll join our dedicated Ebenezer Clinic team (local health workers) and fellow volunteers for every outreach and activity. We share tasks, ideas, and laughs—creating a supportive, family-like group where everyone learns from each other.
Training: Hands-on guidance in MUAC and family counseling—no experience needed.
Expectations: Enthusiasm, respect, modest dress, flexibility.
This team-based, home-visit approach builds trust and delivers real impact while immersing you in warm Ugandan community life. Join our Ebenezer Clinic volunteers to help children thrive! 🌍🙏
