Help with light cleaning & reception, with plenty of time to study, work, or play our piano & guitar. With 3-4 days off, you can hike the Alps or explore the Nakasendo trail 🏔️. What you offer
20 hours of help per week
Housekeeping:
Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
What you get
4 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Bikes at your disposal:
You can use our bikes any time you want.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Basic Internet Access:
Basic speed internet for you to work remotely
Requirements
Intermediate English or Intermediate Japanese
Between 18 and 35 years old
Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details
Our place is run by a small, friendly team: Shotaro (32, owner) and Nono (21, staff). We are a creative community located just 5 minutes from the historic Matsumoto Castle. With over 90% international guests, you’ll be at the center of a vibrant cultural exchange. We are more than just a place to stay; we are a home for mountain lovers and travelers. Feel free to play our piano and guitar or relax in our quiet, historic neighborhood. If you’re looking for a meaningful stay in a traditional castle town, this is the perfect spot for you!
Activities & Shift
We offer a very flexible 3-4 days ON / 3-4 days OFF schedule, giving you huge blocks of time for hiking or traveling.
Housekeeping (Approx. 1.5h/day): Light cleaning and bed-making anytime before 4:00 PM.
Evening Reception (5h/day, 4 PM - 9 PM): Greeting our guests and showing them around:)
Study & Relax: While waiting for guests at the desk, the time is yours. You are welcome to work on your laptop, study, or play music.
Rules
Help us keep the vibe cozy and respectful! 🏠
Quiet Hours: Please be mindful of noise after 10:00 PM. As a small 10-person house, we value a peaceful night for everyone.
Shared Spaces: Keep the kitchen and common areas tidy after use so everyone feels at home.
Mountain Safety: If you head out for a multi-day hike, please share your itinerary with us—we want to make sure you’re safe!
