The experience
We run a community nursery and primary school serving over 450 children aged 3–15, alongside an orphanage that provides a safe home for 45 vulnerable children. We are seeking caring, responsible volunteers to support childcare, teaching assistance, classroom activities, and daily school life, helping create a nurturing and stable learning environment.
What you offer

Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.
Teaching Languages:
Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Description:
We love having volunteers but in the past we have found it difficult to sustain paying for all their ameneties so we now kindly ask you to contribute 35 dollars per week in exchange for accomodation, electricity, water and three wholesome meals a day and a really rich experience where you will leave with a lot of experience and knowledge.

Program Details
This Volunteering position at Worth A Haven Foundation is designed to empower vulnerable children, including orphans and children from underprivileged backgrounds, by providing quality education, mentorship, and emotional support. Volunteers and staff play a critical role in nurturing a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that fosters holistic development.
Participants in this program engage in activities such as assisting with classroom teaching, organizing educational and recreational activities, providing emotional care, and supporting the daily needs of children in the orphanage. The program also emphasizes life skills, values education, and personalized attention to help children develop confidence, creativity, and social skills.
Volunteers contribute directly to shaping the future of children in need, ensuring they have access to learning opportunities, guidance, and a supportive environment that can transform their lives.
Activities & Shift
Key Activities:
Teaching Assistance: Help teachers with lessons, reading, writing, basic math, and creative activities like art and music.
Childcare Support: Supervise children during meals, playtime, and rest periods; ensure their health, hygiene, and safety.
Mentorship & Emotional Support: Engage children in discussions, storytelling, and guidance to build confidence, social skills, and resilience.
Recreational & Life Skills Activities: Organise games, sports, and workshops on hygiene, nutrition, and basic life skills.
Facility Support: Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized learning and living environment.
Shifts & Schedule:
Volunteers typically work in morning (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) or afternoon (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM) shifts, with flexibility depending on school or orphanage needs.
Some activities, like supervision or special programs, may require weekend or evening participation.
Volunteers are encouraged to commit to a minimum period of one month to ensure continuity and meaningful engagement with the children.
