The experience

Hi, my name is Sazita, and I’m a 23-year-old woman running a small, animal-friendly hostel in Sauraha, Chitwan, close to nature, village life, and the jungle 🌿
I deeply love dogs and rescued animals. Some of the dogs here were adopted and rescued, and they are part of our family. Our hostel is simple, peaceful, and welcoming — a place where travelers can relax, connect, and experience real local life in Nepal.


What you offer

15 hours of help per week

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Fluent English or Intermediate English

Between 18 and 80 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers


What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Program Details

At our small, animal-friendly hostel in Sauraha, Chitwan, we welcome volunteers who love animals, simple living, and cultural exchange.
As a volunteer, you will be part of our daily hostel life and help us care for our dogs while meeting travelers from different countries. This is a calm, respectful place close to village life and the jungle.


Activities & Shift

Dog care (feeding, walking, spending time with them 🐶)
Light cleaning and organizing
Helping with guests and reception
Social media content (photos/videos are welcome but not required)

4–5 hours per day
5 days a week


Rules

1. Respect & Safety
Treat the hostel, animals, and fellow volunteers with respect at all times.
Follow instructions when handling dogs — never leave them alone outside.
No smoking inside the hostel. You may smoke outside in designated areas.
Keep your personal belongings safe — we are not responsible for lost items.
2. Working Hours & Tasks
Work 4–5 hours per day, 5 days a week.
Tasks include:
Feeding, walking, and caring for dogs 🐕
Cleaning common areas and rooms
Helping with guests and social media (optional)
Work should be done on time and honestly.
3. Meals & Accommodation
Meals are homemade Nepali food.
Volunteers share bunk beds in the dormitory.
Respect quiet hours: 10 PM – 6 AM for sleeping guests.
4. Communication & Behavior
Be polite and friendly with guests and staff.
Speak English or Nepali clearly when possible; practice is welcome!
No alcohol or drugs during working hours.
5. Animals
Volunteers must love and respect dogs.
Do not feed dogs outside of scheduled times without asking.
Always wash hands after interacting with animals.
6. Free Time & Exploration
Volunteers are welcome to explore Sauraha, the jungle, and village life during free time.
Notify the host if leaving the hostel for long periods.
7. Emergencies
First aid kit is available — ask host if needed.
Report any illness, injury, or safety concern immediately.
