🏡 Family Project on the Uruguayan Coast

The experience

We are Familia Costanera, based on the coast of Uruguay, and we’re looking for temporary help with wood cabin construction and occasional childcare for our toddler.
We welcome individuals or couples who are responsible, kind, and truly willing to help. Construction experience is a plus, but not required. In return, you’ll be part of a family environment, sharing daily life, learning, and contributing to a hands-on coastal project.

What you offer

27 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Dance classes: Take free dance classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Fluent English or Fluent Spanish

Between 18 and 60 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

We are a family living in Barra del Chuy, Uruguay, right on the border with Brazil, and we are looking for help with a special family project.
Next to our beachfront home, we have land where we will be building four wooden cabins for future seasonal vacation rentals. The house is directly in front of the beach, along one of the longest coastlines in South America, offering wide open views, nature, and a peaceful environment.

In exchange, we offer accommodation and meals, access to a heated pool, and a relaxed family atmosphere by the ocean.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on projects, simple living, and experiencing life in a unique coastal border town.

Activities & Shift

5-6 hours for 5 days. These hours can be flexible on the time that is most convenient to you and us .
