🏡🛎️ Help with Reception & Daily Tasks at a Cozy Hostel in Frutillar 🇨🇱


The experience

We’re looking for responsible and proactive volunteers to support our cozy hostel in Frutillar, southern Chile. 🌿 Tasks include reception duties (check-in/check-out), guest assistance, cleaning rooms and bathrooms, washing and ironing linens, making beds and helping with grocery shopping. We offer a calm, friendly and multicultural environment—ideal for learning, sharing and enjoying the beauty of southern Chile.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Administration: Help with booking systems and payments.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Beginner English or Beginner French

Between 20 and 55 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Be from outside Chile

Program Details

Volunteers help 5 hours per day, 5 days a week. In exchange, we offer accommodation in a shared dorm, full use of the kitchen, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, access to common areas and terrace, and the opportunity to practice Spanish. You will work closely with local staff, allowing you to immerse yourself in Chilean culture and local traditions in a relaxed and respectful environment.


Activities & Shift

Tasks include reception duties (check-in and check-out), guest assistance, cleaning rooms and bathrooms, making beds, washing and ironing bed linens, and occasional help with grocery shopping. Shifts can be fixed or arranged directly with the volunteer, always respecting the agreed 5 hours per day. Schedules may be in the morning, afternoon, or mixed, depending on mutual agreement. There are no overnight shifts. During summer, late check-ins may occur until 11:00 pm, but any special arrangements are discussed in advance. Only one volunteer is hosted at a time, working alongside or alternating shifts with our permanent staff.


Rules

Alcohol is not allowed inside the hostel. Overnight visitors are not permitted. Quiet hours start at 10:00 pm and must be respected. Volunteers must have at least a basic level of communication in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, or German. Cleanliness, responsibility, and respect for guests, staff, and shared spaces are non-negotiable.
