🌿 Join Ranch Life in Portugal: Help with Animals & Nature!🐂🌞


The experience

We r welcoming guests to help out in the ranch. We rear beef and sheep and do a lot of work throughout spring and winter months managing our woodlands. So basicaly the help consists in herding the animals where we don´t have any fence, feeding them and checking upon them in terms of their basic needs. When not working with the animals the helper is suposed to give a hand in general activities, logging activity, olive picking, fence upkeep.


What you offer

6 hours of help per day

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Beginner English or Beginner Spanish

Between 18 and 50 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers


What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

We arrange chores according to what the weather allows for that period. Flexibilty is key


Activities & Shift

So basically the help we need would consist in herding the animals where we don´t have any fence, feeding them and checking upon them in terms of their basic needs. When not working with the animals the helper is suposed to help in the farm general activities and logging activity. So good skills with a chainsaw are preferred. The host is not suposed to fell trees but to help delimb, bucking and loading. Sometimes driving its necessary so a driver licence is mandatory. Some work experience as stone manson is also very appraised in maintenance of property stone walls and buildings. In olive picking season the focus is picking the olives from our century old olive orchards disperse in the area
