Program Details

Most jobs are to do with the garden and the orchard, from planting out vegetables, tree planting, weeding, spreading compost, wood chipping, mulching, all depending on the time of year. More year round there's also some wood collecting, building footpaths, general maintanence and other minor projets, but also more artistic ones like wood carving and painting, or decorating. Creating beauty is something I value very much :)
In terms of accomodation, there's a hut next to the garden and a guest room in the main building. The hut has all it's needed for cooking and storing food, it has a compost toilet, a shower but no hot water (it's fairly warm in summer) but you can use the bathroom in the ground floor of the main building whenever needed.

Activities & Shift

Concerning the surroundings, there's a creek few hundred meters down the property, a nice waterfall one hour walk, many footpaths to explore every corner, and it's 20 minutes by car from the Pietra di Bismantova, beautiful place especially for rock climbers. There is a local bar 1 km from the house and a town with all services 10 km far.

Rules

Cooking tidying up and cleaning is a shared duty when eating together.

The internet connection is via hot-spot up to 220GB/month (fast enough for streaming movies). The phone providers that work well here are WindTre Iliad and Very.

The pick up location is Castelnovo Ne Monti where the bus from Reggio Emilia or La Spezia (longer route) can drop you off. From Reggio Emilia usually there's one leaving roughly every hour, the number 44
