The experience
Join the Young Mothers Self Help Group as a Worldpacker and be part of a vibrant community in rural Kenya. 🌍 You’ll support local farmers with permaculture projects and training, assist with community outreach and education, and contribute to environmental initiatives like tree planting and waste management. An immersive experience focused on sustainable agriculture, women’s empowerment and community development.
What you offer
24 hours of help per week
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Kitchen Hand:
Help prepare, finish and serve meals.
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
Farming:
Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Description:
The $20 daily contribution from volunteers helps cover costs like materials, tools, and accommodation, making it possible for the project to keep running smoothly . Think of it as a way to support the project while also getting an immersive experience and making a real difference .

- Accommodation: safe and comfortable living
What you get
2 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Permaculture Course:
Take part in our Permaculture course for free.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Certificate:
Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.
Basic Internet Access:
Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Program Details
We're a community initiative focused on empowering young mothers in Mombasa. We're looking for volunteers to help with permaculture activities, teaching modern farming methods, promoting health and nutrition, and supporting girls' education. Our goal is to improve living conditions and opportunities for women and girls in the coastal environment. Volunteers will work hands-on with local women, sharing skills and learning from each other.

Activities & Shift
Activities include permaculture farming, community outreach, environmental projects, and health awareness initiatives. You'll be getting hands-on experience and making a real impact.
Here are the 5 main responsibilities/activities of our volunteers:
1. Support permaculture projects and training: Help us implement sustainable farming practices and educate locals on eco-friendly techniques.
2. Assist community outreach and education: Work with local women and youth on empowerment initiatives, health awareness, and education programs.
3. Contribute to environmental initiatives: Join us in tree planting, waste management, and conservation efforts to protect Mombasa's natural beauty.
4. Promote health awareness activities: Help us spread knowledge on healthy living, hygiene, and disease prevention in local communities.
5. Immerse yourself in local culture: Share your skills, learn from locals, and help build connections between communities and cultures.
