The experience

In Jorong Village, there is a fun and friendly swimming community where kids and teenagers come together to enjoy the water, learn new skills, and make friends.
For kids, swimming is like a happy playground in the water 🌊. They learn how to float, kick, and move safely while playing games and laughing with their friends. Coaches and older swimmers help them feel brave and confident.


What you offer

17 hours of help per week

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 5 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: The USD 5 per day is not a fee for profit. It is a shared contribution used solely to help cover essential daily costs related to the volunteer program, including: Food expenses for volunteers during their stay Operational costs, such as utilities, basic supplies, and activity materials Donations to support our activities, especially educational and social programs for children and the local community

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Requirements

Fluent English or Fluent Indonesian

Between 19 and 35 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Be from outside Indonesia

Program Details

Jorong Village Swimming Community is a fun, friendly, and safe swimming program for children and teenagers. This community brings young people together to enjoy water activities, learn essential swimming skills, build confidence, and make new friends. Guided by caring coaches and supported by older swimmers, participants learn not only how to swim, but also how to work as a team, stay healthy, and support one another. The program focuses on safety, joy, discipline, and togetherness in a positive environment.

2. Swimming Skills Training (Teenagers)
- Freestyle, backstroke, and basic techniques

3. Fun & Games Session
- Group water games
- Friendly mini-competitions
- Team-based swimming activities

4. Peer Teaching & Mentoring
- Teenagers assist younger swimmers
- Confidence-building leadership roles
- Learning responsibility and teamwork

5. Water Safety Education
- Pool safety rules
- Helping friends in safe ways
- Basic awareness of water risks


Rules

RULES
1. Safety Comes First
- Always listen to coaches and instructors
- No running or pushing near the pool
- Swim only during scheduled sessions

2. Respect Everyone
- Be kind to friends, coaches, and helpers
- No bullying, teasing, or rough behavior
- Support and encourage each other

3. Discipline & Cleanliness
- Arrive on time for sessions
- Wear proper swimwear
- Keep the pool area clean

4. Team Spirit
- Help younger or new swimmers
- Work together during activities
- Celebrate effort, not just winning

5. Health Awareness
- Inform coaches if feeling unwell
- Take breaks when needed
- Drink enough water before and after swimming
