The experience

🛠️ We’re refitting a 27m motor yacht in the Mediterranean and looking for a volunteer plumber to help with onboard systems. Tasks include gray & black water connections, sinks, freshwater lines and toilet macerators. You’ll work directly with the owner (marine engineer) on a real refit project. Accommodation onboard included. Great hands-on learning experience.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Between 24 and 75 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

European Union Passport

Program Description

This is a hands-on yacht refit project on a 27m motor yacht in the Mediterranean. I’m looking for practical, reliable people who can help with plumbing-related tasks such as water systems, tanks, drains, and basic installations.

You can expect clear explanations, realistic daily goals, and a safe working environment. I work step by step and plan tasks in advance.

In return, I expect responsibility, basic technical understanding, and respect for the yacht and shared living space. Accommodation onboard is provided, meals/basic costs are covered, and you’ll gain real experience in yacht refit work and life at sea.

Activities & Shift

Activities

Assist with installation and connection of water pipes and hoses

Help install gray and black water tanks and pumps

Connect sinks, drains, and freshwater lines

Replace or assist with toilet macerators

Check, clean, and organize existing plumbing in bilge areas

Support general refit tasks related to plumbing

Tasks are explained before starting and carried out step by step.

Shifts

4–5 hours per day, usually morning or early afternoon

5 days per week

Schedule may adjust slightly depending on weather or marina access

Afternoons are generally free to relax, explore the area, or enjoy the sea.

Safety is important, so follow instructions and ask if unsure

No drugs onboard; alcohol is fine in moderation during free time

Keep shared spaces reasonably clean and tidy

Be on time and communicate openly if plans change

Stick to agreed tasks and ask before trying something new

Respect marina rules and people around us

This is a shared living space, so mutual respect and good communication are key 😊
