The experience
As a volunteer, you will move with us through our daily activities and become part of the lives of the children we support 🤝. Your role includes playing with them 🎨⚽, teaching basic skills 📚, offering emotional support, and most importantly, giving them value, confidence, and joy 🌈.

Between 18 and 80 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details
We currently assist 10 families with children affected by sickle cell disease 🏠👨👩👧👦. In addition, we collaborate closely with a local school 🏫 to support education and awareness, as well as two medical centres 🏥 where children receive care, follow-ups, and health guidance.

Gentle play activities
Arts and crafts
Reading or storytelling. Support caregivers with daily tasks
Create a comforting environment
Shifts:
- 10am-12pm (morning play)
- OR 2pm-4pm (afternoon support)
Rules
- 💡 *Be gentle*: Move slowly and calmly around the kids.
- 🌈 *Make it fun*: Play games, read stories, and be silly!
- 💬 *Listen carefully*: If a child says they're feeling unwell, tell a staff member ASAP.
- 🤗 *Give lots of hugs (if they want!)*: Show love and care, but respect their space too.
- 🚨 *If a child has pain, let us know*: Don't worry, we're here to help!
