The experience

Help us at Coco Drift Hostel, a chilled backpacker hostel near Hiriketiya Beach, Turtle Point, and Dikwella Beach. Tasks include light cleaning, guest interaction, front desk help, and social media content. In return, we offer a free bunk bed in an air-conditioned dorm with a comfy mattress, time to surf, explore beaches, and enjoy real island vibes in Sri Lanka.

What you offer

10 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Music: Perform to entertain guests, children or local communities.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Program Details

At Coco Drift Hostel in Hiriketiya, we welcome volunteers to be part of a friendly backpacker environment close to the beach and nature. Volunteers help with light daily tasks while enjoying free time to surf, relax, and explore Sri Lanka.
We focus on cleanliness, cultural exchange, and positive energy. This is not a party job, but a chilled, respectful hostel experience where everyone supports each other

Activities & Shift

Volunteers help around 3–5 hours per day, 5 days per week.
Tasks may include:

Light cleaning of common areas and dorms

Helping with check-ins and guest interaction

Keeping the hostel tidy and welcoming

Small maintenance help if needed

Creating social media photos or videos (optional)

Shifts are flexible and discussed together in advance.

No drugs inside the hostel

Alcohol allowed only in common areas and responsibly
