Program Details
The Regenerative Farm & Garden Pioneer program is at the heart of our hands-on, land-based learning community. Volunteers in this role become integral members of our daily rhythm, working directly with the soil, plants, and animals that sustain us. This is not just farm work—it's participation in a living system. You will learn through doing, contributing to our food security, ecosystem health, and the foundational cycle of planting, growing, and harvesting. The program is built on mutual respect: we provide the guidance, tools, and setting; you bring your energy, willingness to learn, and care for the land. Together, we grow food, regenerate the soil, and nurture a resilient community rooted in the cloud forest.
Activities & Shift
Your core schedule will be 5 hours per day, 5 days a week, with mornings dedicated to focused work and afternoons often involving lighter tasks or independent projects. A typical day may flow as follows:
7:00 AM - 8:00 AM: Personal time / breakfast.
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Core Work Block. This includes tasks like planting or harvesting in the vegetable gardens, preparing garden beds, composting, mulching, watering, and direct animal care (feeding, collecting eggs, maintaining coops/enclosures).
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Shared lunch and rest.
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Afternoon Session. This time is for collaborative projects like food processing (preserving harvests), nursery work (seed starting), soil preparation, or helping with integrated systems (e.g., moving chicken tractors, maintaining compost). Some afternoons may be free for personal time, exploration, or skill-sharing.
Your two consecutive days off each week are for rest, hiking to the river or mountains, or exploring the local area.
Rules
By joining this program, you agree to our community guidelines:

Resource Stewardship: Conserve water, minimize waste, and handle all harvests with care—this is our food.
Community Living: Clean up after yourself in shared spaces (kitchen, bathrooms, common areas). Observe quiet hours (10 PM - 7 AM).
Learning Mindset: Ask questions, share observations, and be open to feedback. We are all here to learn from the land and each other.
