Childcare & creative english support in Cambodia
The experience
Volunteers support learning with songs, dance, and educational games, helping children practice the alphabet, numbers, and colours. The focus is on fun, confidence-building, and social skills such as sharing, cooperation, and self-expression, creating a strong foundation for future English learning. This childcare program introduces children aged 4–7 to basic English through play and creativity.

Description:
Fee covers breakfast, dinner, and living supplies and donation for the project, which will support staffing, school supplies, building maintenance, electricity, and other daily operational costs.

Program Details
What’s included:
Volunteers stay in shared single-sex dormitories in Bakod Village, Takeo, with Wi-Fi, basic facilities, and air conditioning at night. Breakfast and dinner are provided daily, with access to a shared kitchen and affordable (2US) lunch options.
* Airport pickup
Volunteers are picked up from Phnom Penh International Airport (KTI) upon arrival. The school is located about two hours from the airport, and transportation to the school is included in the program.
Pickup days are Sunday and Monday, allowing volunteers to settle in and get ready for the week’s activities.
When volunteers complete their program, transport back to the airport can be arranged for a $50 fee.
- Good to know:
Volunteering runs from Monday to Friday, leaving weekends free for rest or travel. Volunteers can explore Cambodia during their free time, with support available for trip planning and transportation. Program contributions help cover meals, accommodation, and the school’s operational costs.

09:00 – Chores
Volunteers help with daily chores, including cleaning classrooms, dorms, common areas, and the driveway.
10:00 – Breakfast
Group breakfast and preparation for the day.
10:30 – Lesson Planning
Volunteers use this time to prepare lesson materials and activities for their classes or childcare sessions.
13:00 – Lessons and Childcare Begin
* Teaching Volunteers: Lead two one-hour classes (13:00–15:00).
* Childcare Volunteers: Supervise and engage children in activities from 13:00–15:30.
15:30 – Lunch
Enjoy a lunch break.
17:15 – Evening Classes
Volunteers teach or assist with evening English classes (17:15–18:15).
18:30 – Dinner
Dinner is served after classes.
