The experience

Worldpackers at RAVT Innovation Centre help nurture gardens, care for animals, create art through painting and decorating, and share music with children and the community. Daily activities include planting, watering, feeding animals, brightening community spaces, and supporting creative learning. We value kindness, creativity, responsibility, and a spirit of collaboration in rural Uganda.

What you offer

18 hours of help per week

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Music: Perform to entertain guests, children or local communities.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 10 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: The costs will cover food provision, access to clean and safe water, facility maintenance, and the operational support of the volunteer program.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Program Details

Worldpackers are expected to support gardening, animal care, painting, decorating, and music activities at RAVT Innovation Centre. Tasks may include planting and maintaining gardens, feeding and caring for animals, helping beautify community spaces, and sharing music or creative activities with children and youth. Volunteers should be responsible, creative, and respectful of people, animals, and the environment.

In return, RAVT provides a welcoming and supportive environment, cultural exchange, guidance, and meaningful learning experiences. We value collaboration, openness, and mutual respect throughout the stay.

Activities & Shift

Activities

Shifts
Volunteers work 4–5 hours per day, usually in the morning or afternoon. Schedules are planned in advance and kept flexible, with time for rest, learning, and cultural exchange.

Rules

All volunteers must treat animals, plants, children, and community members with care and respect. Follow guidance when handling animals, tools, or materials. Ask permission before taking photos or videos. Alcohol or substance use during work hours is not allowed. Keep shared spaces clean, respect schedules, and communicate openly and responsibly with the team.
