The experience

Create fun, relaxed English experiences through community-based activities like movie nights, game nights, cooking classes, speaking trips, and cultural exchange events. Activities are flexible, run 2–3 times per week, usually in the afternoon or early evening. This role suits creative, open-minded volunteers who enjoy interacting with adults, teens, and occasionally children.


What you offer

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Requirements

Fluent English or Intermediate English

Between 19 and 80 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

This role focuses on creating fun, relaxed, and meaningful English experiences through community-based and creative activities rather than formal classroom teaching. You will help facilitate activities such as movie nights, game nights, cooking classes, speaking trips, cultural exchange events, or other ideas you enjoy bringing to life.

Activities are flexible and can involve adults, teens, and occasionally children, depending on the event. There is no pressure to teach grammar or follow a fixed curriculum. Local teachers and the coordinator will support planning and logistics when needed.

Activities and adults conversation classes run 2–3 times per week
Timing is flexible, usually in the afternoon or early evening
Sessions vary depending on the activity
Overall commitment is light to moderate, designed to stay well balanced and flexible

This position is ideal for volunteers who are creative, open-minded, and comfortable interacting with different age groups. Volunteers who are happy to occasionally jump into children’s activities or events when needed are especially appreciated (always discussed in advance).

What you receive:
You will receive private accommodation (private room with air conditioning), three meals per day, laundry service once a week, pick-up from the harbor or airport, a free Indonesian crash course upon request, and a volunteer certificate at the end of your stay.

Volunteer contribution:
A contribution of 150 EUR is required to cover visa processing (Visa Type C6, including administrative support) and shared housing utilities including security, electricity, and water (PDAM). Flights, personal expenses, and personal travel are not included.
