Kids & Teens English Interaction Support (Ages 8–18)
This role supports elementary students (ages 8–12, reading-ready) and teens (ages 13–18) in developing confidence and fluency in spoken English. Learning is interaction-based and focused on real-life communication rather than formal teaching.
You will join classes as an English interaction partner, supporting conversations, games, role play, and discussion activities. Local teachers act as the main tutors, handling grammar, structure, and learning progression, while your role is to encourage speaking, natural expression, and confidence.
Class structure & schedule:
Two levels: Elementary (8–12) and Teens (13–18)
Each class runs for 90 minutes per session
Volunteer support 2–3 times per week for each class
All sessions take place in the afternoon, as students attend school in the morning
Total weekly commitment is up to 20 hours per week
This position is ideal for volunteers who enjoy working with older children and teenagers, prefer a lighter academic role, and feel comfortable leading conversations rather than teaching grammar.
What you receive:
Volunteers are provided with private accommodation (private room with air conditioning), three meals per day, laundry service once a week, and pick-up from the harbor or airport upon arrival. We also offer a free Indonesian crash course upon request and a volunteer certificate at the end of the program.
Volunteer contribution:
A contribution of 150 EUR is required to cover visa processing (Visa Type C6, including administrative support) and shared housing utilities such as security, electricity, and water (PDAM). This does not include flights, personal expenses, or personal travel.
