Early & Young Learners English Companion (Ages 3–7)
This role focuses on early English exposure for children aged 3–5 and 5–7 through joyful, play-based interaction conducted almost entirely in English. You will support two daily classes, each lasting 90 minutes, using songs, games, storytelling, movement, and simple everyday conversations.
Local teachers are mostly present to coordinate learning goals, classroom flow, and learning effectiveness, so you will never work alone or be expected to teach grammar. Your main role is to create a warm, engaging English environment and actively interact with the children.
Time commitment:
Teaching time: 3 hours per day (2 classes × 90 minutes)
Preparation & coordination: around 2 hours per day
Total: approximately 5 hours per day, up to 5 days per week
Classes take place in the afternoon only, as children attend school or daycare in the morning.
What you receive:
You will be provided with a private room with air conditioning, three meals per day, laundry service once a week, and pick-up from the harbor or airport upon arrival. We also offer a free Indonesian crash course if requested, and a volunteer certificate at the end of your stay.
Volunteer contribution:
A contribution of 150 EUR is required to cover visa processing (Type C6, including administrative support) and shared housing utilities such as security, electricity, and water (PDAM). This contribution does not include flights, personal expenses, or personal travel.
This role is best suited for volunteers who enjoy working closely with young children, value consistency, and are happy with a structured afternoon routine within a warm, community-based environment.
Activities & Shift
Our program operates exclusively in the afternoon and early evening. All children attend school or daycare in the morning, so there are no teaching activities scheduled in the morning.
Volunteers can expect a consistent afternoon schedule, including class time and preparation. Final timetables are coordinated in advance with the program coordinator.
