My experience in the community absolutely exceeded my expectations!! People are extremely nice, the place is great and the schedule is amazing!! We worked some days and other days we were visiting places, meeting new people, learning the language, the culture, how to prepare the food, how is the process for batik, learning typical instrument, martial arts... so many things! My homestay was amazing and now is my new family!! Everyone is so passionate and we learned about sustainability and eco-projects. I will never say thank you enough for everything they did for me!! I am beyond grateful for my experience in madiun. l got the opportunity to learn about batik, javanese culture and the future plans of making madiun a waste free city. the sustainably program consists of going to visit ms siyams workshop and learning about her methods of recycling, taking photos of the activity to promote sustainable practices to the people of madiun and visiting discussions about the madiun waste centre. the community team are all kind hearted people who are passionate about their cultural art and want to keep it alive. i highly recommend this experience 🫶

What a wonderful experience. I felt like a part of the community family and was greeted and welcomed at every location around town. I started on the batik programme with Mrs Lilik, but as they needed a teacher for a few days I also did this programme. If you want to experience local life, learn Javanese culture and make meaningful connections this is the position to apply for! I mainly applied to learn Batik, but came away with so much more experience. The hours you commit to are relaxed, mostly with busy mornings and sleepy afternoons- again like the locals do!

My experience here was truly spectacular. Everyone who supported the project treated me like family. It was incredible being immersed in all the aspects of Madiun including Batik, teaching English, having lots of local food, and Scout Camp where I got to help hundreds of kids with English. They are extremely loving and caring hosts who helped me with my every need. Even though I didn't speak Indonesian, everyone was willing to help me and wanted to connect with me to make me feel at home. The experience was truly unforgettable and I'd recommend you apply.

My stay in Madiun was perfect. Mostly because of my guest parents Mrs Lilik and Mr Dwi. I learned about the local arts by doing batik, I learned the culture by meeting amazing people around the community and I was able to learn about the traditional food:)

I have never been so passionate about a review. My stay with Mr. Yoga, Mrs. Lilik, Mr. Agus and the rest of the team at the community was absolutely incredible. I was immediately welcomed in as part of their family. I learned so much about the local culture, attending a traditional music class, cooking classes and a martial arts class. I also left with a beautiful piece of Batik I made with the help of an amazing teacher. The English teaching was only 1.5 hours per day Monday - Friday and the kids were wonderful. The people I met here were the best part. Thank you so much the community team ❤️

This was an experience of a lifetime and i cannot recommend it enough. what a joy it was to experience daily life in indonesia, the host about the culture and meet the AMAZING people of Madiun. in my years of traveling, i've never been met with such big, open hearts. i am fortunate enough to have spent 9 days with the most kind, generous, and warm people. they truly made me feel special!! volunteering was less about work and instead being spoiled with enjoying the activities planned like making the host, learning martial arts, and visiting the english class. be prepared to be a model for photos!

Immediately upon arrival, they welcomed me with such open arms as one of their own, and adopted me into their family. Throughout the two weeks I spent with them, they treated me so well; I was able to the host about the host, martial arts, traditional music, puppetry, Javanese culture, attend a traditional wedding, try new foods, and really immerse myself in a new culture. Seeing how committed each person was to promoting Indonesian culture was very inspiring to me, and I am walking away with a newfound appreciation for Indonesia. I'm so sad to leave part of my heart here, but am beyond grateful ❤️

Truly exceptional experience. I had such a wonderful time volunteering in this program that it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I arrived till I said goodbye, every single person was so kind and supportive, they treated me like their family and made me feel appreciated and respected at all times. Along with learning the host from the masters and enjoying local lifestyle, I also tried martial arts and music classes that was a plus plus point. All of them will always have a special place in my heart. Best wishes for my Madiun family ❤️

My journey in Madiun was unforgettable. I met amazing humain beings who are now a part of my family. More than learning the host, I also learned about the community, and I've been able to discover Martial Art, Yoga and so many other things. I met many wonderful locals, and there is no word to describe how welcoming are these people, and I can't wait to see them again. My volunteering will remain the best memory of my Indonesian trip.
