The experience
Experience life in a Buddhist community while learning meditation techniques that you can apply in your daily life. Gain transferable skills at our Peace Meditation Centre through mindful work such as gardening and cooking. You can also join nature trips, interact with local communities, and discover Vietnam’s Central Highlands — the lungs of the country, famous for coffee, agriculture, elephants, wildlife, and diverse cultures.
What you offer
6 hours of help per day
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Kitchen Hand:
Help prepare, finish and serve meals.
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
Gardening:
Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Description:
The 99$ volunteer fee helps cover shared costs during your stay, including accommodation, daily meals, and support for the local temple and meditation activities. This contribution allows us to maintain a simple, peaceful living space and support the community while offering a meaningful meditation and cultural experience.
What you get

Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Between 18 and 70 years old
Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details
Arrival – Sunday
Arrive in Buôn Ma Thuột (BMT). Our local team will pick you up and transfer you to Greentraveller Homestay. You’ll receive an orientation, learn about local nature and culture, enjoy a short city tour, and visit a nearby village.
Monday – Friday: Volunteer Program
After breakfast at 7:00 AM at Greentraveller Homestay, you will travel about 8 km to the temple by bicycle or motorbike. Please arrive at the temple by 8:00 AM. Once there, you will begin meditation, learning and practice, followed by reading sessions, group discussions, and Q&A with monks to deepen your understanding of Vipasana Meditation & Buddasium.
Afternoon Activities (Different by day)
Support the temple and community through mindful work, which may include:
• Gardening and planting trees
• Cutting back overgrown bushes and grass
• Picking up trash
• Temple chores such as sweeping, cleaning, and organising the grounds
Evenings & Free Time
Evenings are free for self-practice or rest. After dinner, you may relax or reflect in your own way. Saturdays and Sundays are free, with optional nature and cultural experiences with our local team (if available).
Departure day
Volunteers staying one week depart on Saturday. Those staying longer have both Saturday and Sunday free.

Nature & Culture activities (highly recommended):
For an additional fee you can extend your stay explore the area. You will have the opportunity to take some traditional cooking classes as well as travel to some of the finest temples in the area, explore nature & culture. there will many opportunities to interact with the local residents, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the community.
Rules
At meditation temple dressing modestly (covering shoulders/knees), removing hats/shoes, speaking quietly, turning off phones, and respecting sacred objects and people (monks/statues), no alcohol & smoking,m.
