The experience

This is a volunteering opportunity at our family hostel in Barranco, Lima.

Main Duties: Help is needed with housekeeping and cleaning, which involves making beds and cleaning rooms, bathrooms, and common areas. Deep cleaning is required on days when the hostel is empty. Volunteers are also asked to assist with breakfast preparation for guests in the mornings and, sometimes, provide support at the reception desk when necessary.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Requirements

Beginner Spanish or Intermediate English

Between 21 and 40 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Be from outside Peru

European Union Passport

United States visa or citizenship

Program Details

Our volunteer program is based on collaboration, responsibility, and cultural exchange. Volunteers support the daily flow of the hostel while enjoying a comfortable stay and a family-like atmosphere. Tasks are clearly explained, schedules are organized in advance. You’ll have enough free time to enjoy Lima’s culture, and connect with guests from around the world.
