Program Details
Volunteers stay with my family on our farm in Punjpur and choose to help either at the English school, on the organic farm, or with simple tasks at home. You’ll volunteer a few hours each day, and the rest of the time is free to explore the village, nature, and local culture. We provide accommodation, organic meals, and a warm family environment. In return, we ask for a positive attitude, willingness to help, and respect for local traditions. This program is a cultural exchange where you learn from us, we learn from you, and together we create a meaningful experience.
Activities & Shift
Cultural Exchange & Learning
Volunteers can experience real rural India by joining local festivals, fairs, weddings, and community celebrations. Villagers are friendly and often invite you for tea. You can also gain teaching experience, learn Hindi or Gujarati, and develop new practical skills.
Working With Children
Some tasks involve children, as you may help at our school or support creative activities.
School Work
Our school, Bhagawati Bal Mandir, supported by the Italian NGO Learning with Paolo, provides free education in a safe, nature-connected setting. Volunteers with interest or experience in English, maths, science, social studies, or creative subjects are welcome. You can also propose your own project. Children enjoy learning about new cultures and improving their English through interaction.
Farm Work
Our farm has buffaloes, crop fields, and fruit trees. Tasks include gardening, horticulture, and animal care. Ongoing projects include developing a fish pond, building housing for ducks, goats, and chickens, planting flower gardens, improving storage, and starting beekeeping. Experience is appreciated but not required.
Home Help
At home, volunteers can help with cooking, dishes, basic housekeeping, and supporting my son with homework or creative activities.
