The experience

We're seeking a bright and energetic volunteer to join our team at a Japanese Inn in Echigo Yuzawa, a scenic snowy resort.

Responsibilities include housekeeping, snow shoveling, customer service, and food preparation.

The role offers 5 working days per week (4-5 hours/day, 6am-12pm) with 2 days off. Accommodation (shared room), meals, and utilities are provided.

What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Requirements

Intermediate English or Beginner Japanese

Between 20 and 40 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

The main part of the job is housekeeping.
It's a job that requires a sense of responsibility.

Activities & Shift

You will work 5 days a week (approximately 4 hours per day, basically 9am to 1pm) and have 2 days off per week.
Please note that times may not always be as stated above, so please be flexible.

In addition to our hotel, we have a lodging facility that is preparing to open, and we may ask you to tidy up and clean the facility.
In that case, 8 hours of work will be counted as 2 days' work.

Rules

The staff house is located about 25 minutes from the inn, so a valid Japanese or International driver's license is required for commuting. A company car will be provided for your convenience.
As you'll be staying in the staff house, we ask that you observe quiet hours from 10pm to 6am to ensure a peaceful environment.
