The experience

We are a family in Bavaria offering room and board in a warm, welcoming home. We’re looking for help in the garden and with childcare, ideally from native English speakers who enjoy spending time with kids and supporting daily family life.

This is a great opportunity for travelers who appreciate a rural setting, fresh air, and a cozy family atmosphere. 🌿🏡

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Permaculture Course: Take part in our Permaculture course for free.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Fluent English or Fluent French

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Experience life in the Bavarian Alps while supporting our family with everyday tasks and garden work.

We are an active family of five living in a small mountain village in the beautiful Bavarian Alps. Our children were born in 2018, 2022, and 2025 — so there’s always energy, creativity, and laughter in our home!

We love the outdoors: hiking, exploring nature, swimming in alpine lakes, and gardening. In summer, we grow our own organic vegetables. We also share our home with seven ducks and two lovely cats, who are very much part of the family.

We both work from home and really value support from friendly, responsible travelers. There are many ways you can help — playing with the kids, helping around the house, doing gardening tasks, or sharing your personal skills.

We speak English, French, and German.
We have internet but no TV.
We do not smoke and kindly ask our guests not to smoke — indoors or outdoors.

Our oldest daughter plays the violin and we have a piano, so if you are musical or enjoy teaching, that’s a wonderful bonus! 🎻🎹

Additional Information

🍁 Autumn/Winter: We mainly need support with household tasks and a bit of childcare.
🌱 Spring/Summer: Extra hands in the garden are especially welcome.

Childcare:
Childcare in our home simply means spending some time with the children — playing, keeping them busy with small activities, or joining in what they’re doing.
You will usually not be alone with them, as we are almost always around. So you do not need full responsibility; it’s more about sharing moments and giving us a bit of relief in daily life. 💛
