The experience

Create engaging content and promote our teaching initiatives across social media. Teach in schools, preschools, and community projects while visiting orphanages. Capture and share impactful stories, photos, and videos that showcase volunteer experiences and inspire others to join our mission of making a difference through education.


What you offer

12 hours of help per week

Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Photography: Take, edit and provide amazing photos.

Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.

Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 35 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: Volunteer fees cover essential costs that make programs possible: food and accommodation for your stay, project materials and equipment, administration and staff coordination, transportation to and from sites, community support and fair wages for local staff, plus safety measures. While you give your time and skills, these fees ensure sustainable, ethical programs that truly benefit both volunteers and host communities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Beginner English

Between 18 and 50 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Be from outside Sri Lanka

Program Details

Content Creator for Teaching Program

Teaching Responsibilities:

Teach English, arts, crafts, sports, music, singing, dancing, and educational games in schools and preschools
Plan and deliver interactive lessons and conduct storytelling sessions
Lead creative artwork sessions and organize sing-alongs and performances
Assist local teachers with classroom management
Visit orphanages and support community education projects for underprivileged children
Develop lesson plans and foster student creativity through hands-on activities

Fundraising:

Lead fundraising campaigns to support program sustainability and expansion
Engage with donors and create donation appeals

Content Creation & Promotion:

Document daily teaching experiences and capture authentic classroom moments
Create engaging photos, videos, and stories showcasing student progress and interactions
Manage social media platforms to promote the program
Share cultural experiences from nearby attractions during free time
Inspire future volunteers and donors to join the educational mission


Activities & Shift

Work just 4 days weekly (8-11am, 12 hours total) in schools and community programs, with 3 days off for sightseeing and leisure. Enjoy home-cooked meals at 7am, 12:30pm, and 7pm. Experience cultural immersion with local families, weekly city tours on Mondays, and time to explore Sri Lanka. Full support provided.


Rules

No drugs or smoking in accommodations and workplaces
Respect colleagues, host families, and community members
No offensive language or inappropriate behavior
Wear proper, modest attire on workdays (shoulders and knees covered)
Be punctual for meals, work, and activities
Respect local customs and religious sites
No alcohol before or during work hours
Keep accommodations clean and tidy
Follow safety guidelines and house rules
Maintain professional conduct with students and communities

Violations may result in program removal without refund.
