🎨🌿 Artist Residency Program – Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park
This artist residency program offers a unique opportunity for creators to experience an immersive stay in exchange for a work of art inspired by the surrounding natural environment. The residence is located within the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park, a protected and tranquil area that encourages focus, reflection, and a deep connection with nature.
The project operates in a fully off-grid context, where both water and energy resources are limited and responsibly managed. Energy is generated exclusively through solar power, with variable production according to sunlight availability, and rainwater is collected for garden and personal use. Water is provided for essential daily needs; however, laundry facilities are not available on-site. A natural spring is located approximately a 20-minute walk from the property and can be used when necessary.
Accommodation is provided in a pellet-heated house with two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a composting toilet, and a simple outdoor bucket-style shower. Basic energy access allows for essential uses such as charging personal devices, and the main house operates with sufficient solar infrastructure to support fundamental needs.
The residency promotes a lifestyle based on sustainability, self-sufficiency, and environmental responsibility. It is designed for artists who seek a professional yet deeply natural setting to develop their creative practice while engaging with an off-grid, low-impact way of living. The program values artistic exchange as a meaningful contribution to the space and its ongoing cultural and ecological vision.
